Job description

THIS POSITION WILL BE ASSIGNED AS SPORTS SUPERVISOR AT THE OSCAR JOHNSON JR ENRICHMENT & RECREATION CENTER

JOB SUMMARY

Delivers programs and events directly to the public, opens and closes facilities, assists with planning, gathering and organizing supplies/equipment, set-up, assigning duties and take down for programs and events, performs cursory cleanup of facility as needed, follows all City of Conroe and Center policies and procedures, and is responsible for the care and safety of participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in public program/event delivery and staff supervision.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
  • Knowledge of cash handling.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher.
  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications within time period designated by supervisor.
  • Must comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, talking, visual acuity and walking.
