The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Spring View Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 7-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

How you'll contribute

The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Able to manage ventilators, cpap/bipap, vapotherms.
  • Able to titrate and maintain critical drips on the ICU patient, including knowledge of indications, contraindications, and side effects.
  • Must pass a rhythm recognition test within 90 days of hire/transfer. 

What we're looking for 

· RN license required

  Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

· ACLS and PALS is required within 12 months of hire.

· One year of experience preferred

· Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
