Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Space Systems SME SETA to support an innovative program office. You will provide technical expertise and independent assessment across space technology and operations activities supporting the development and demonstration of solar sail propulsion capabilities for cislunar applications. You are technically accomplished, self-directed professional who actively monitors technical progress, anticipates challenges, and works proactively with the Program Manager to resolve issues and drive performer efforts toward successful program outcomes. You will analyze technical results, evaluate performer progress, and provide recommendations that inform program planning and execution. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced space technology, engineering, operations, and national security while collaborating with government, industry, and technical stakeholders across the space community. Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of technical research, development, engineering, or operational experience in one or more areas relevant to research program, including:
  1. Astrodynamics
  2. Solar sail technology
  3. Space propulsion development
  4. Space launch coordination and planning
  5. Space operations
  6. Hardware testing
  7. Space-based communications
  8. Space-based Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)
  9. Control systems
  10. Space Situational Awareness (SSA)
  11. Space-to-space imaging technology
  12. Space system development
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex technical information and provide sound technical recommendations.
  • Experience evaluating technical progress, identifying challenges, and developing actionable solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a self-starter in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to both lead technical efforts independently and contribute effectively as part of a broader team.
  • Ability to interact professionally with government, industry, technical, and program management stakeholders.

Desired Experience:
  • Experience working with or supporting relevant space program transition partners, including organizations within U.S. Space Force, NASA, and/or the U.S. Air Force.
  • Prior experience supporting Research and Development programs as a technical and/or program management support contractor.
  • Familiarity with research processes, procedures, and program execution practices.
  • Experience supporting advanced or emerging space technology development programs.
  • Experience with space propulsion, solar sails, cislunar operations, or related space systems.
  • Experience participating in technical reviews, hardware testing, demonstrations, site visits, or field testing.
  • Experience preparing high-quality technical briefings and written products for senior government leadership.

The expected salary range for this position is $80.00-$120/hr. This range represents a good-faith estimate and is not a guarantee; final compensation is determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and government contract labor rate requirements and may fall outside the stated range.
