Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Primary responsibilities for the Rolling Cashier are to greet guests in a friendly manner, take and deliver orders, calculate checks, and receive payment for the Bowling Grill Window and Restaurant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible to ensure all assigned opening duties are completed in a timely manner and all side work and closing duties are completed before leaving property.
  2. Receives and inspects guest checks for any inaccuracies and closes the check to the appropriate method of settlement (i.e., cash, credit card, charge to appropriate tribal account, employees discount and senior discounts).
  3. Ascertains guest satisfaction and in the event of unresolved dissatisfaction notifies Supervisor immediately.
  4. Maintains cleanliness of work area throughout the day.
  5. Balances the cash drawer at the end of shift and signs out and returns cash drawer from the cages.
  6. Ensures at end of shift cash in drawer balances and paperwork is complete and enclosed with the drop.
  7. Brings all guest comments positive or negative to the attention of the Supervisor/Manager.
  8. Provides assistance to guests by providing accurate information regarding daily specials and local information when appropriate.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have at least (1) one year of cashiering and food service experience.
  • Must obtain TIPS certification within first 90 days of employment.
  • Must have a point-of-sale cash register experience.
  • Must have average math skills to include preparation of cash drops and making change.
  • Must have a pleasant and out-going customer-oriented personality.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work.
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 30 lbs. within an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to receive and provide direction in English.
  • Must have excellent attendance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple priorities successfully.
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs in a timely manner regarding both internal and external guests.
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through register system.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guest.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to receive and act in an appropriate manner regarding sensitive information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and stoop throughout each 8–10-hour shift.
  • Must have good vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and flexibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in crowded areas containing high noise levels.
  • Always remains sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
  • Ability to work in a team environment is necessary.
  • Ability to work with standard cleaning solutions and detergents, always using appropriate safety equipment and precautions.
  • Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Candidates selected for employment will be subject to employment reference and background check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Staff license.
  • Responsible for maintaining TIPS certification.
  • Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain strict confidentiality at all times to include personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance, and department information.
  • Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s policies and procedures, Gaming Code regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
