Job description

The Lawn Care Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the truffle research orchard located on Bear Mountain. This position is responsible for the operation of lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain irrigation systems at the orchard site, including maintenance, replacement of parts, and calibration of irrigation times/amounts.
  • Mowing and maintaining orchard space using university provided weed trimmers and mowers.
  • Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, fertilizer, etc.
  • Conduct PH and root tip analysis to ensure healthy truffle growth.
  • Maintain solar panels and pumps for the irrigation station.
  • Perform regular fence and gate maintenance as needed.
Education/Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in ground keeping is preferred.
  • Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
