The Gait Lab engineer is responsible for the operational environment of the Gait Lab including: Vicon, Noraxion, EMPI, GaitLite operational equipment and software. The Gait Lab engineer coordinates all communication and trouble-shooting for problems with the vendor(s) in addition to identifying supplies needed to keep the Gait Lab operational. The engineer will coordinate with the Director of OT/PT to optimize the availability of the Gait Lab for patients and research. Th engineer will assist in patient preparation for gait lab testing in addition to operating capture systems, synthesizing data into useable reports and uploading the reports into EPIC and the shared drive for physician analysis. The engineer will attend continuing education/training as needed to support the Gait Lab and will work closely with physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and physiatrists to obtain optimal reports.
