Job description

Why intern with Apex Capital?
We offer a flexible, part-time internship that gives you real-world professional experience alongside your coursework. You'll work directly with our software engineering team on meaningful projects, with exposure to company leadership along the way, in a fun and friendly environment.
This role will report to a department supervisor who will set expectations for the internship, oversee training, guide you through your projects, and provide regular feedback. Many of our interns come back for full-time employment.
Apex Capital does not sponsor applicants for work visas. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
The When and the Where
  • This is a part-time, flexible role (approximately 15-20 hours/week), with hours built around your class schedule. Students should be able to work within our core business hours - 7 am - 6 pm

  • Expected to run for at least the fall 2026 semester, with the opportunity to continue longer if it's a good fit for both you and Apex

  • Hybrid - some onsite time at our location two blocks from Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth, with flexibility for remote work around classes. For this reason, students should be local to the DFW area

  • This is a paid internship

What Does this Department Do?
Our software engineering teams build, enhance, and maintain various proprietary applications that ensure a good employee and client experience.
What Will the Intern Do?
This intern will work with software engineering managers and other software engineers to help with development tasks related to our applications and ongoing projects, which could include coding, test-driven development, and other tasks that support our software engineering department's goals.
What areas of study and skills are best suited for this role?

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, software development lifecycle, software troubleshooting, CI/CD processes, and other development tasks
