Description TOWN OF TRUMBULL PART-TIME BUILDING ATTENDANT Hours: 19.5 hours/week - Monday-Friday $21.50 per hour Examples of Duties JOB SUMMARY: Performs a full range of basic tasks associated with the operational needs of various Town Facilities DEPARTMENT: Trumbull Public Library GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Moves furniture, boxes, and/or sets up rooms, etc., as needed on a daily basis for programs. Collects and disposes of trash. Dusts, mops, sweeps, and vacuums flooring

Cleans restrooms, windows and other areas as needed. Resupplies soap, cleaning agents, paper towels, PPE, etc., and informs supervisor when additional supplies are needed. Retrieves and delivers mail, receives freight shipments and distributes them to appropriate location

Performs daily inspection of building, walkways and parking lot. Will use small leaf blower to clear debris from entryways and removes snow/ice from stairways and walkways around the building as needed/limited. Inspects fire extinguishers and emergency lights monthly.

May conduct minor repairs. Performs related duties and department specific tasks as required. At Senior Center: Clean up from any meals served in the facilities including but not limited to clearing dishes, cleaning tabletops, putting away utensils, etc.

Assists the food pantry with deliveries and clean up. At Library: Changes marquee signage by road. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives direction from Department Head or authorized full-time staff.

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Ability to respond courteously to the public. Good interpersonal skills Ability to follow oral and written instructions Some ability in simple record keeping Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing job duties, the employee should have the ability to lift at least 40 lbs., reach over-head, crouch down or kneel, get up and down ladders, and stand/walk for long periods of time. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High school graduate or GED and two (2) years of experience in a satisfactory combination of building repair and building cleaning
