LIBRARY ASSOCIATE – ADULT AND FAMILY SERVICES


ABOUT THE POSITION

The town of Eaton is seeking a part-time Library Associate – Adult and Family Services to join our close-knit Library team.


This position works approximately 25 hours per week and combines frontline customer service with programming, outreach, and support of daily library operations.


This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, creating engaging experiences, and helping connect the community with information, resources, and services. The position requires a flexible schedule, including regular evening and Saturday hours.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides welcoming, responsive customer service and assists customers with library resources, technology, and services.
  • Plans and facilitates adult and family programs and community outreach.
  • Supports circulation, collection development, displays, marketing, and other day-to-day library operations.
  • Helps maintain an organized, welcoming library environment and supports volunteers as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people and understands the value a public library brings to its community. You’re comfortable working with customers of all ages and backgrounds, can balance multiple priorities, and bring a positive, collaborative approach to your work.


The ideal candidate is also comfortable with technology, enjoys developing programs and engaging with the community, and can work both independently and as part of a small team.

Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.


  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in public service, a library, or a related field, in addition to any experience used to meet the education requirement.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
  • Must be available to work regular evening and Saturday hours.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Schedule: Part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, including regular evening and Saturday hours
  • Salary Range: $22.30 - $30.61
  • Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.30 - $23.62
  • Benefits: This position is not benefit-eligible but accrues sick leave in accordance with applicable law.

Nestled in the heart of Eaton, Colorado, our historic yet modern library features a beautifully updated facility with makerspace technology, public meeting spaces, youth areas, and current collections and resources. The Library is an active part of community life and enjoys strong support from residents throughout Eaton and the surrounding service area.


Our creative, close-knit team takes pride in providing excellent library services while genuinely enjoying the work we do together. As a member of the High Plains Library District, the Library benefits from strong funding for programs, technology, and collections while maintaining local authority through the Town.


Located just five miles north of Greeley and approximately 20 miles east of Fort Collins, Eaton offers small-town character with convenient access to the amenities of both communities, as well as nearby trails and the Pawnee National Grassland.
