Parkside's Registered Nurses provide nursing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, treatment plans and therapeutic treatments. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Performs crisis intervention. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.

  • Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary. Provides leadership and oversite of the LPN and Mental Health Technicians. Is able to delegate and follow up on assignments
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age
  • Functions as a patient and family advocate at all times
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify patient behaviors that require intervention. Continuously observes significant behaviors, actions and activities of the patients. Documents observations in the patient’s charts, reflecting implementation of the treatment plan. Reports any unusual occurrences
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Functions as an integral part of the treatment team
  • Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs
  • Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure. Knowledgeable of medications including psychotropic drugs and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and their clinical condition
  • Formulates and implements patient treatment plans; family is included when appropriate. Ability to revise treatment plans as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license without restrictions
  • BLS/First Aid Certification
  • Exceptional ability to ensure high-quality patient care and expedite concerns
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English; both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer knowledge
