As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide compassionate care to our patients every day. Under the direction of a licensed, registered Occupational Therapist, you will organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part. You will work to help patients reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the rehabilitation plan with the patient and/or family, which include: interventions to reach reasonable goals; coordinated rehabilitation interventions; response to interventions, changes in condition, and progress toward goals; advocate support services to create new social support or environmental modifications. Completes all appropriate documentation to maximize financial remuneration.
  • Respecting and understanding the patient's right to treatment and right to be involved in treatment decisions.
  • Conferring with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
  • Serving as an educator and/or resource for patients, families, care givers and other direct patient care providers to assess, instruct, correct, and/or provide information about practice skills and techniques.
  • Participating in the improvement of patient satisfaction, job specific processes, and/or procedures.
  • Actively participating in compliance with The Joint Commission standards, both departmentally and organization wide.

What you will need:

  • Associate’s of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Georgia licensure to practice as a Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant.
  • Previous experience in an acute care, skilled nursing, or outpatient rehab setting preferred.
