Job description

Our team includes experienced and compassionate physical, occupational, and speech therapists specializing in senior care. We offer rehabilitation services within an ALF setting. Our priority is the comfort and well-being of our clients, and we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Position: Part-time COTA (would be working for both Greendale and our sister facility, Waukesha)

Oasis Therapy Services a skilled nursing facility, is now hiring a COTA to provide rehabilitation services in one or more of our service locations!

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide quality Occupational therapy services and initiates referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
  • To evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conduct specialized evaluations as indicated.
  • To supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of the treatment plan.
  • Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers
  • Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals

Skills

  • Proven working experience as occupational therapist
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
  • Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools ( e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)
  • Valid license to practice occupational therapy
  • BS degree or greater in occupational therapy
