Job description

VAN DRIVER
Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA) is currently seeking an individual to serve in the position as Van Driver. CDL not required.

Peninsula Agency on Aging has been providing services that have enabled seniors to live independently since 1974. Our mission is to support the independence and quality of life of Peninsula residents, primarily 60 years and over, by advocating, arranging, or providing vital human services.

Key Responsibilities
As a Van Driver, you will operate a van and pick up senior citizens for congregate meals and return them to their homes, assists participants in and out of vehicles, transports senior citizens to doctors, outings and points of interest, transports meals, deliver supplies, assists with loading and unloading of meals, food, and supplies, maintains all related passenger lists, trip records, and other information as required by the Agency, performs daily pre-trip vehicle inspections, and ensures vans are properly fueled and maintained.
Essential Skills and Experience
We are looking for applicants who with any combination of education and experience, possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, dependable, knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing vans; thorough knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing van operation; ability to assist clients in wheelchairs; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
