Security Dispatchers are responsible for answering and responding to any emergency or non-emergency calls to provide assistance or important information. Additionally, Security Dispatchers must communicate effectively via telephone and portable radios to ensure calls for service are responded to appropriately.

Job Functions:

  • Provide a safe and friendly atmosphere to guests and team members

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other departments and support teams

  • Report and react to hazardous conditions and emergency situations

  • Coordinate radio communications with multiple departments using computerized and conventional dispatch radio consoles

  • Respond to internal and external guest telephone inquiries

  • Operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment

  • Receive and log deliveries

  • Complete and prepare all appropriate daily and special event paperwork to include the use of copy machine, scanner, fax machine, etc.

  • Track and record all communications using a computerized logging database

  • Communicate with local emergency officials when instructed to do so

  • Communicate regularly with Security Management regarding training and operational issues to include team member or guest concerns, losses, and unusual situations

  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to, use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of applying

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Criminal justice/safety/security/communications-related training and experience preferred

  • Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other team members and be able to interact with guests

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times

  • Must be detail oriented and have clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally, including delivering safety instructions/directions, verbal cues, and speaking clearly into microphones and radios

  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements

  • Must have the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times

  • Must have the ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and accept a high degree of accountability

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, including Excel and Word

  • Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays - Team members must work a minimum of eight (8) hours every two pay periods in order to stay an active employee

  • Physical requirements would include ability to sit (for up to eight hours at a time), have repeated manual dexterity, and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds without assistance

  • This job requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens, tickets, printed papers)
