POSITION SUMMARY
The part-time teacher tutor for Private Schools, Neglected & Delinquent (N&D), and Homeless Set-Aside plans and implements instructional activities for eligible Title I students according to the grant. They will provide academic support and guidance in reading and/or mathematics for students in the program, communicate with Title I parents and private school staff about program activities, review and submit required student evaluation/assessment and attendance reports for authorization to Title I, attend and participate in Title I meetings and required training sessions, work with Title I with pre- and post-planning activities, and conduct other duties as assigned by Title I.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
- Valid T4 or higher Georgia Professional Teaching Certificate preferred in Math and/or Reading OR Math and/or Reading endorsement (endorsement allowed only with clear renewable professional certification) specific to the grade level of the student
WORK EXPEREINCE:
- Three to five years of teaching experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provides academic support and guidance in Mathematics and/or Reading/ELA for elementary, middle, or high school level.
- Provides tutorial services to students eligible for Title I services.
- Provides evaluation/assessment data to Title I.
- Provides feedback of tutorial service outcome to parents, Homeless, N&D, and private school official.
- Provides required Title I documentation as requested.
- Attends Title I meetings and professional development.
- Participates in pre- and post-planning program activities.
- Maintains working relationships with administrative management and school site staff to support the integration of educational program management.
- Responds to inquiries or complaints from stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Involves stakeholders in the strategic planning process.
- Solicits stakeholder input and feedback during plan implementation.
- Keeps abreast of current research, theory, and trends in the area of district and school administrative services and provides leadership in these areas as appropriate to the District's needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator and/or program director.
