About This Role
We are seeking an Indirect Tax Consultant with deep expertise in Canadian GST and provincial tax regimes. This role serves as a key subject matter expert and primary point of contact for business stakeholders, providing technical guidance on indirect tax matters while supporting compliance, reporting, and new product initiatives. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate application of indirect tax rules across complex operations, partnering cross-functionally and contributing to system enhancements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys working independently while maintaining strong visibility and accountability.

What You Will Work On
  • Serve as the primary Canadian GST expert, advising internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters including GST/HST and provincial tax requirements
  • Provide technical research and guidance on tax issues (e.g., FAS 5 considerations), acting as a trusted subject matter resource
  • Act as the main point of contact for business inquiries, resolving tax-related questions with clear, practical guidance
  • Support quarterly reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of indirect tax positions
  • Participate in and execute testing of new system functionalities, ensuring tax logic and calculations are properly implemented
  • Collaborate on new product launches and initiatives, assessing indirect tax implications and requirements
  • Extract and analyze data using systems such as SAP or SQL, primarily through running queries and validating tax outcomes
  • Maintain standardized, well-organized workpapers that are easy to review and audit-ready
  • Navigate tax considerations across multiple entities and jurisdictions, ensuring consistency and compliance

What You Will Bring
  • Strong knowledge of indirect tax principles, with deep expertise in Canadian GST/HST and provincial tax regimes
  • Proven ability to apply technical guidance consistently and operate with minimal oversight
  • Experience providing clear, actionable advice to business partners in a consultative capacity
  • Hands-on experience supporting tax reporting, research, and compliance processes
  • Familiarity with SAP, SQL, or similar systems, with the ability to run queries and analyze data (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, accurate work with attention to detail and minimal rework
  • Track record of proactive communication, including surfacing priorities, risks, and timelines
  • Ability to manage complexity across multiple entities and understand broader operational impacts
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to using templates, standardization, and best practices
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment, while maintaining accountability and visibility to stakeholders
