Job description

Job Title: Salesforce Platform Architect
Location-Type: Remote or Hybrid (If in NYC, 3x/wk) - open to both
Start Date Is: ASAP
Duration: (contract, perm, etc) FTE Perm (open to contractors instead too)
Compensation Range: 150-180,000k/yr 10% benefits

Job Description:
  • As a Salesforce Platform Solutions Architect, you will oversee the overall health, governance and vision of our salesforce ecosystem (Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud). You will will serve as the bridge between business and operations, ensuring the platform provides a secure, scalable and unified foundation for growth, retention and engagement efforts.
  • You will report into the Associate Director, CRM.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to develop the platform roadmap, driving execution by translating business objectives into actional workstreams and enhancements, ensuring investments drive measurable value and align with overall platform vision
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing, Data, Tech, and Growth Ops, translating complex business requirements into tangible technical solutions.
  • Architect a unified marketing and sales technology stack, working with leadership in defining a shared infrastructure strategy that eliminates silos and optimizes the end-to-end customer journey..
  • Design and enforce data integrity standards like shared audience rules, naming conventions, and shared data models to ensure data synchronization across all clouds.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, including our Salesforce account teams and implementation partners.
  • Design and champion platform adoption and training programs/materials to ensure teams are aware of, and can leverage new features and capabilities.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Salesforce Architecture & Strategy

  • Audit our current Sales Cloud instance and develop a clear, prioritized roadmap to optimize data structures, automation, contact and record setup, and cross-cloud integrations
  • Define shared infrastructure and governance frameworks to ensure reliable data synchronization across Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud
  • Architect solutions that enable our Salesforce ecosystem to scale for B2B growth and ABM program execution
  • Serve as the internal technical PM for all Salesforce initiatives, translating business needs into system requirements and actionable delivery plans

Sales Cloud Ownership

  • Lead the cleanup, optimization, and ongoing management of our Sales Cloud instance to make it usable, trusted, and adopted by our sales team
  • Build and maintain lead tracking infrastructure across the full funnel — from paid media and form fills through lead scoring, MQL handoff, and sales nurture activities
  • Partner with sales leadership to document and improve how leads move through the funnel, and report on key metrics including pipeline progression and cost per lead
  • Drive sales team adoption by making the platform intuitive, reliable, and worth using

Cross-Cloud Integration & Data

  • Oversee the migration of key functions into Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Ensure seamless data flow between Sales Cloud and SFMC to support lead journey automation — from prospect acquisition through MQL to sales conversion
  • Partner with the Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud owner to align on data strategy, audience frameworks, and lead scoring models
  • Scope and assess our B2B data landscape to understand what we have, what we need, and how to close the gaps for ABM measurement and targeting
  • Integrate external B2B tools with Salesforce where needed

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work within a lean Salesforce team (one SF admin, part-time contractor developers) and communicate clearly across functions including marketing, sales, and leadership
  • Communicate roadmaps, tradeoffs, and progress to senior stakeholders in plain language
  • Client the groundwork for a centralized, scalable Salesforce function as the team grows

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6–10 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing Salesforce solutions within an enterprise environment
  • Deep Sales Cloud expertise — this is the core of the role
  • 4 years of cross-cloud integration experience, with a strong understanding of how Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud work together
  • Experience supporting B2B marketing patterns, lead scoring models, and ABM strategies within Salesforce
  • Hands-on experience with Data Cloud — this is a major differentiator; certification is a plus but not required
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect and System Architect (required)
  • Proven ability to audit a Salesforce instance, identify gaps, and build a roadmap to fix them
  • Comfortable working with external tool integrations and regulated data environments (healthcare, financial services, or similar highly regulated industries a plus)
  • Strong systems thinker who can also produce documentation, requirements, and delivery plans
  • Able to balance structure with ambiguity — we move fast and priorities shift; adaptability is non-negotiable
