Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Catering Server - Casual for Dining Services Catering team.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Ensures exemplary guest service through all forms of service including carving stations, bartending, running food during events, etc.
• Replenishes products and supplies in compliance with event standards.
• Ensures events are properly equipped and executed by transporting, pulling, setting up and breaking down, and returning equipment to designated storage areas in compliance with event standards and instructions.
• Provides support to present a clean and safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

$18 - $22/hourly

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively respond to customer inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, stressful environments.
• Friendly, service-oriented demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering and/or fine dining environment.

Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push/pull food and beverage items, and catering equipment up to 50 lbs.

Special Conditions

• Some travel is required to campus-wide events.
• Some evening and weekend hours are required, must be willing to work with a varying/flexible schedule based on catering business fluctuations.
