Job description

Crouseโ€™s Pediatric Recovery Care Center (Peds RCC) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for patients whose procedures/treatments require less than a 24-hour hospital stay. The Pediatric RCC serves a population ranging in age from infant to 18 years old

Pay Range: $39.78ย - $51.50/hour based on experienceย 

Schedule:ย Part-Time, 32 hours/week,ย 6:00AM-6:30PM, 5:30AM-6:00PM, 5:30AM-6:30PM with rotation of holidays & other shifts as neededย  (This position works on the Pediatric RCC and floats to the Adult RCC when there are no pediatric cases scheduled)ย 

up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs

Available Schedule(s): 6:00PM-6:30AM, 7:00PM-7:30AM w/ rotation of holidays & other shifts as needed. This position works Monday and Tuesday nights on the Pediatric RCC floor when there are pediatric cases scheduled.
(When there are no pediatric cases scheduled, this position floats to either the adult RCC or an adult med/surg unit. The candidate does not need to possess adult patient experience and will be trained as part of their orientation.)ย 

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
  • Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements:

  • Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
    • For RNsย licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelorโ€™s of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • Minimum two (2) years ย recent RN pediatric experience
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.ย PALSย certified at time of hire, or obtained within six months of hire
