Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing oversight and clinical support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for conducting health assessments, coordinating medical care, monitoring health conditions, maintaining medical records, administering nursing services as needed, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and agency standards.
The RN serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary team and works to promote the overall health, safety, and well-being of the individuals supported.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct health assessments and monitor the ongoing medical needs of individuals supported.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and communicate with physicians, specialists, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, nursing notes, medication administration records, and health-related documentation.
  • Administer medications, treatments, blood glucose checks, blood pressure monitoring, and other nursing services as ordered by physicians.
  • Monitor acute and chronic health conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
  • Educate individuals, families, and staff regarding medications, health conditions, nutrition, hygiene, and wellness practices.
  • Conduct Medication Administration Certification classes and provide ongoing medication-related training and support to direct care staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Provide emergency nursing support, triage, and first aid as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, agency policies, and all applicable state and healthcare regulations.

Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • One year of nursing experience preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration, health assessments, and chronic disease management
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
  • Basic computer proficiency and electronic documentation skills
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
