Description

Verland is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home. 


Shifts available:

Part Time- 12 hours  

Week 1 * 6 pm - 6:30 am: Tuesday
Week 2 * 6 pm - 6:30 am: Friday 


The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of individuals under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON). This is an hourly, non-exempt position.


Registered Nurse Contributions:

  • Administer and document the prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assess the physical status of individuals daily and report any unusual behavior or condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Provide emergency care (first aid) for individuals as needed.
  • Perform laboratory procedures as ordered.
  • Review ordered individual medications and treatments monthly.
  • Document care given to individuals on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Develop and implement health care plans for assigned individuals as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and attend any staffing and ITR reviews as a contributing member of the IDT.
  • Participate in and attend Nursing Department committee meetings as assigned.
  • Provide feedback and be available for LPNs to consult with should a need arise.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must possess a working knowledge of professional standards and current nursing trends.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend individuals' records and physicians' orders and to communicate information effectively.
  • Must be able to establish working relationships with other members of the IDT.
  • Must be able to document individuals' care in a comprehensive manner according to professional and legal standards.

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Pennsylvania Registration.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in an acute care facility or related field (rehabilitation, extended care facility).
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License and have all required clearances.
