We are seeking a Registered Nurse III, to work for the Vermont Army National Guard Non-Clinical Case Management. This project will provide non-clinical case management services to coordinate care, optimize resources, and enhance Soldier medical readiness, wellness, and deployability across Vermont Army National Guard (VTARNG) operations. This is an on-site position based at the VTARNG State Medical Detachment, Green Mountain Armory, Camp Johnson, Colchester, VT 05446, working Monday to Friday between 07301630; occasional weekend may be required to support soldier readiness events; occasional telework may be authorized in support of continuity operations during inclement weather or other events.

The Registered Nurse III will be a team member for the Non-Clinical Case Management contract, providing non-clinical case management services by coordinating care, tracking medical readiness, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating communication to support Soldier wellness, documentation accuracy, and deployability within Vermont Army National Guard operations. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What does a typical day look like for a Registered Nurse?

You will:

  • Support Periodic Health Assessments and Soldier Readiness Processing events by providing case management services and coordinating care activities.
  • Establish and maintain electronic case management profiles within required timelines following provider referral.
  • Prepare and contribute to monthly case status reports by tracking Soldier care progression and readiness outcomes.
  • Apply Individual Medical Readiness and deployment regulations while obtaining required medical release documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act standards during all case management activities.
  • Document medical and administrative information across required systems, ensuring accuracy and completion within established timelines.
  • Prepare and review case files for Medical Evaluation Board and Physical Evaluation Board processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate with Government personnel to track compliance and address case management requirements.
  • Engage with Soldiers to explain requirements, obtain documentation, and ensure understanding of responsibilities and privacy rights.
  • Manage medical profiles and contribute to reporting on profile status and updates.
  • Identify and coordinate submission of medical documents in accordance with required processing timelines.
  • Participate in monthly case reviews, presenting case information and supporting follow-up actions.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Shall be a Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license in good standing in the state of Vermont.

We will be extra impressed if you have:

  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, performing non-clinical case management for the VTARNG or a similar entity.
  • Practical case management experience complying with:
    • Army Medical Readiness Regulations (AR 40-501 Standards of Medical Fitness; AR 40-502 Medical Readiness; AR 40-66 Medical Record Administration and Healthcare Documentation; AR 40-35 Health Hazard Assessment Program).
  • DOD Medical Readiness Systems and Policies (MEDPROS, MEDCHART, eCase, AHLTA / MHS GENESIS).
  • Privacy & Information Protection Laws (HIPAA).
  • Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) / Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) processes.
