Make a Difference When It Matters Most

Freedom Detox, a Pyramid Healthcare program, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team in Gastonia, NC.

In this role, you'll provide safe, high-quality medical care and support to adults receiving detoxification services. We're looking for a clinician with a strong bedside manner, excellent customer service skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effectively de-escalate challenging situations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct nursing assessments and monitor clients throughout the shift.

  • Administer medications safely, accurately, and in accordance with physician orders.

  • Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms using established detoxification protocols.

  • Complete COWS and CIWA assessments according to clinical protocol.

  • Educate clients regarding medications, treatment plans, and the recovery process.

  • Coordinate with on-call medical providers regarding client assessments, medication needs, and changes in condition.

  • Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health emergencies using sound clinical judgment.

  • Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.

  • Ensure medical equipment and supplies are maintained and functioning properly.

  • Complete required trainings, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN)
  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license.

Both Positions
  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.

  • Previous experience in behavioral health, detoxification, addiction treatment, or substance use services is preferred but not required.
