Peak Rehabilitation Hospital is a 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital serving the Raleigh/Durham and Apex communities. Operated in partnership with Lifepoint Health, Duke Health, and WakeMed, our interdisciplinary team is dedicated to helping patients recover, regain independence, and improve their quality of life in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse who excels in this role:

  • Oversees daily clinical operations and ensures continuity of care across departments
  • Serves as the primary clinical resource for staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff during assigned shifts
  • Assesses unit needs and prioritizes staffing assignments and patient care activities
  • Coordinates admissions, patient flow, and room placement
  • Ensures delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care
  • Monitors patient care activities to reduce risk and prevent errors
  • Provides direct patient care as needed based on unit demands
  • Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
  • Oversees completion and accuracy of Interdisciplinary Care Plans
  • Supports Quality Indicator (QI) processes and performance improvement initiatives
  • Promotes adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
  • Supports staff development, education, and a positive work environment
  • Assists with staffing, scheduling, productivity, and operational workflows

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and have graduated from an accredited nursing program. Additional requirements include:

  • CPR/BLS certification required
  • CRRN certification preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting required
  • Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Schedule

3x12, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
