Job Summary: The Mobile Vaccine Clinic provides seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to students across the Oakland Unified School District during the fall vaccination season. This role supports community health efforts by helping coordinate and deliver accessible immunization services at school sites, ensuring students and families have convenient access to recommended vaccines.
On-Call Position: The mobile vaccine clinic operates on varying dates between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Commitment is approximately one clinic day per month.
Roles & Responsibilities- Administer COVID-19 and flu vaccines to children aged 5-11 at various OUSD locations.
- Support the setup and breakdown of mobile vaccine clinics.
- Provide accurate and culturally sensitive health education to patients and guardians regarding vaccine safety and aftercare.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols, including proper documentation and reporting of vaccine administration.
- Collaborate with AHS staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Be available to work on short notice (with a minimum of 1-week advance notice), depending on the clinic schedule.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor of Science (B.S), one year of professional nursing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to provide 2-3 days of availability and work flexible hours, primarily Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM, based on clinic schedules.
- Must be available to work at least three clinics per month unless otherwise decided and approved by the management based on clinic needs.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various OUSD locations.
Preferred qualifications- Commitment to working in the low-income community and to community health care with familiarity with community health clinics is preferred.
- Ability to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese or Spanish
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations- California Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification
$49.64 - $52.82 an hour
On-call and temporary employees does not qualify for company benefits.
