Job Title: Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: North Valley Surgery Center - Chico, CA
Pay: $58-$62/hour
Schedule: Part-Time, Wednesday and Thursday, 10-hour shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgery Center team. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced, adaptable, and confident in providing high-quality perioperative care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care before, during, and after ophthalmic surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and responses to anesthesia or medications.
  • Assist the surgical team with preparation, instrumentation, and sterile field management.
  • Support patient education and post-operative instructions to ensure optimal recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical technicians to ensure continuity of care.

  • $58-$62/hour
  • Wednesday and Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
  • 1-Year of experience in an outpatient surgery, operating room, or perioperative care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements/Typical Working Conditions:
  • Primarily a temperature-controlled facility.
  • Work may require prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate medical equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate effectively and monitor patients.
  • Requires occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 30 pounds.

Essential Physical Tasks:
  • Visual acuity to read medical records and monitor patient vitals.
  • Ability to detect odors indicative of medical issues.
  • Hearing ability to communicate and respond to alarms or patient needs.
  • Dexterity to handle medical instruments and perform procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift, twist, turn, reach, climb, kneel, squat, sit, walk, stand, and bend as needed throughout a shift.
