Part-Time Day Shift.
This position is in Rushford, Minnesota
Job Summary of an RN or Registered Nurse: Monitors for and provides quality of life and care to residents in accordance with all GSLS policies and procedures, state and federal regulations and standards of care.
Essential Functions of an RN or Registered Nurse:
โ€ข Assessment: Assesses resident's health status and needs by assessing, interpreting, recording and communication data relevant to resident care using the nursing process.
โ€ข Medication Administration: Demonstrates knowledge of medication and their correct administration based on each resident's status, diagnoses, and medication regimen. Observes, documents, and reports resident responses to medications.
โ€ข Treatments and Clinical Skills: Competently preforms skin treatments, catheterizations, tube feedings, and other treatments and cares as needed. Implements health care measures and delivers direct resident care to meet resident needs.
โ€ข Documentation: Documents professionally, accurately, and completely according to current standards, and GSLS policies and procedures.
โ€ข Discharge Planning: Plans for resident discharge, anticipates and plan for long-term and/or short-term resident needs, collaborates with the discharge planned when appropriate and assesses the resident prior to discharge.
โ€ข Delegation/Collaboration: Delegates and collaborates in providing resident care according to licensure and skill levels, follows up to ensure success-assumes responsibility for all nursing care and nursing actions to residents on the shift assigned. Coordinates and directs resident care appropriately and professionally. Communicates pertinent resident information to appropriate staff, family, and physician.
โ€ข Emergency and Disaster Measures: Carries out first aide, emergency, and disaster measures according to policies, procedures, and standards of care.
โ€ข Other duties within their scope of practice as directed by the Team Leader.
Physical Demands of an RN or Registered Nurse:
โ€ข Regularly required to stand, bend, and walk. May also be required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
โ€ข Regularly assigned to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
โ€ข Frequently required to support up to 10-50 pounds.
โ€ข Emergency situations could require carrying/supporting 25 pounds or greater.
โ€ข Requires employee use hands for repetitive actions such as simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulating.
โ€ข Requires functional hearing, ability to read medical records, make observatory assessments, and document in writing and computer records.
โ€ข Requires functional ability to perform job duties as listed in the job description.
Qualifications of an RN or Registered Nurse:
A. Education/Other-
โ€ข Graduate of a registered nurse accredited program required.
โ€ข Current active RN nursing licensure in the State of Minnesota in good standing.
โ€ข CPR certified.
โ€ข Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
โ€ข Clinical experience with geriatrics, long-term care and/or rehabilitation preferred.
โ€ข Demonstrates a broad and current knowledge of nursing including gerontological nursing and related aspects such as rehabilitation and metal health.
โ€ข Knowledge of and skilled in physical assessment techniques.
โ€ข Knowledge of and skilled in use of the nursing process.
โ€ข Skilled in oral and written English communication-communicates clear expectations.
โ€ข Knowledge of Quality Improvement-welcomes change to improve.
B. Personal-
โ€ข Demonstrates leadership/supervision ability. Motivates staff for continued improved performance, customer service and quality. Provides staff with negative and positive performance feedback.
