What you will do:
In conjunction with site and regional leadership, the Registered Nurse oversees the medical aspect of the Developmental Preschool program by doing the following:
  • Monitors all aspects of health and safety.
  • Completes initial and annual training on issues regarding the health and safety of our children (beneficiaries) enrolled, including daily care/emergency care.
  • Provides daily nursing services as prescribed by a licensed physician.
  • Is available for all health-related needs of the preschool, including sicknesses, accidents, and incidents.
  • Performs nursing assessment as indicated on EIDT children.
  • Maintains documentation of current immunization records and/or waiver forms on each child.
  • Requests medical records from doctors and facilities as needed.
  • Ensures that billing for nursing services is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains preschool specific medical supplies.
  • Is available to parents for health-related questions and/or concerns. Involves Sr Director with any concerns that cannot be immediately/easily resolved.
  • Attends Multidisciplinary conferences upon request.
  • Attends administrative meetings and provides input into center policies and procedures.
  • Assists with new hire orientation relating to health and safety issues.
  • Provides relevant health and safety training to staff as needed.
  • Participates in one-on-one meetings with leader.
  • Monitors for potential abuse or neglect situations and follows the required DHS reporting guidelines for any suspected issues.
  • Conducts reviews of the preschool to ensure that health related Arkansas Childcare Licensing and EIDT requirements are being followed.
  • Assists with referrals for additional health-related services and/or specialties.

What you have:
  • Knowledge of basic nursing services including tube feeds, catheterizations, diabetic management, seizure management, etc.
  • Knowledge of common pediatric developmental conditions and pediatric emergency management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Education/Certifications:
  • Current, unrestricted registered nursing license as approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
  • Pediatric nursing experience, preferred.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand through sight and hearing. The employee is regularly required to move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
