The Transport RN is responsible for accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in accordance with established protocols while on transport and in the Intensive Care Units or Emergency Room. 1. Demonstrates and promotes excellence in the application of the AC Model of Patient and Family-Centered care. Evaluates and treats patients prior to and during transport, ensuring patient safety and implementing life support measures as needed.
2. Monitors patient's condition, documents nursing care, and reports patient status to clinical staff. Performs patient assessments, problem identification, administers IV medications and implements plan of care.
3. Coordinates plan of care with other healthcare team members and initiates action to prevent current or potential risk to patient in an emergency situation.
4. Recognizes, reports, responds to, records and re-evaluates changes in pertinent patient information on conditions in appropriate time frame.
5. Communicates and collaborates through verbal and written reports to assure continuity of care.
6. Provides and promotes safe transportation of patient while delivering quality care. Complies with safety instructions, maintains inflectional control, secures patient in transport, and loads all required equipment into aircraft.
