HIM Scanning Specialist
Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion, Aurora CO
Department: HIM Scanning
Work Schedule: Part Time, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.
Summary:
Performs clerical duties and technical skills associated with medical record scanning.
Responsibilities:
Performs document preparation, scanning and indexing of medical records, and audits results for image quality and accuracy.
Assembles and maintains complete medical records.
Scans medical records accurately and timely.
Validates accuracy of scanned documentation.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Required Education: None required. Preferred: Training in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: None required. Preferred: Certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in patient health information or medical records scanning.
