Position Summary
The UNC_NCSU Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a part-time research associate position. The position will have an academic appointment in Biomedical Engineering and will participate in a NIH-funded research program to assist in the development of long-acting delivery systems for various indications including treatment and prevention of HIV and as multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs). The main focus of this position will be on research & development, data analysis, manuscript writing, grant writing, and advising on experimental design, data interpretation and analysis, and project development. Other roles will include training and mentoring new lab members. 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences
  • Coursework in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
  • A strong background in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or development and characterization of long-acting delivery systems.
  • Analytical or data analysis expertise including HPLC, FT-IR, rheology, DSC, TGA, GPC, AFM, NMR, UV-Vis, TEM, or SEM-EDX.
  • Experience in design or development of translational long-acting delivery systems that can be applied to address real-world unmet medical needs using interdisciplinary approach in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, biology, or pharmaceutical science.
