Research Assistant I (Part-Time) — Metabolic Kitchen | Houston, TX

Schedule: Wednesday–Friday | 20 hours per week
Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00/hour

Bring precision, purpose, and a passion for nutrition science to a role that directly supports clinical research. Dean’s Professional Services is seeking a Research Assistant I to join the Bionutrition Research Core (BRC) within a metabolic kitchen setting at a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. In this hands-on position, you’ll help prepare research-designated meals for dietary clinical trials in cancer care and nutritional science, working closely with senior research dietitians and following strict study protocols where accuracy and consistency matter.

Required Skills
  • Ability to follow detailed research protocols and consistently meet strict accuracy standards
  • Strong attention to detail with precise measuring/weighing (gram weights) and dietary restrictions
  • Solid organization and record-keeping skills, including documentation of preparation and quality activities
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools for communication and tracking (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Commitment to sanitation and cleanliness, maintaining a safe and organized workspace
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on food preparation tasks
