Human Resources Generalist (Part-Time)

The Human Resources Generalist is a human resources professional accountable for the accurate, day-to-day execution of Welby Health's people function across the new hire lifecycle, recordkeeping, and benefits administration. In this position, you will serve as the operational executor of core human resources processes, with direct accountability for the accuracy of onboarding and employee records produced on behalf of the company.

As the Human Resources Generalist at Welby Health, you will partner directly with the People Operations Manager to deliver a consistent and compliant employee experience across a multi-state, distributed workforce. Furthermore, you will serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and requests, bringing the organization and follow-through required of a function built on precision and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the full new hire process, encompassing offer letter logistics, background checks, Form I-9 verification, E-Verify, and onboarding checklists
  • Coordinate the separation process, including equipment return and system access deprovisioning
  • Maintain onboarding materials and checklists in current form as the organization evolves
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and with the organization's Professional Employer Organization (PEO), including new hires, changes, and terminations
  • Track licensure and certification status for clinical staff, required training completion, handbook acknowledgments, and statutorily required postings
  • Support day-to-day compliance for a multi-state healthcare employer, escalating matters outside standard procedure to the People Operations Manager
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, routing matters to the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or People Operations Manager as appropriate
  • Support the administration of open enrollment, benefits changes, and leave-related documentation
  • Partner with the People Operations Manager to confirm job descriptions, post open requisitions, and maintain the applicant pipeline
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication throughout the recruiting process
  • Administer offer logistics and ensure a clean transition into onboarding
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee inquiries and requests
  • Support the coordination of company events, recognition programs, and organization-wide culture initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of human resources experience in a generalist, coordinator, or people operations capacity
  • Working command of California employment fundamentals, including wage and hour requirements, paid sick leave, final pay administration, and statutorily required notices
  • Direct experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and demonstrated capacity to learn new systems efficiently
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential information
  • Sound judgment and disciplined organizational practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Residence in San Diego County with the ability to report to the organization's office on scheduled in-office days
  • Direct experience working within a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) structure
  • Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, or another regulated, license-tracked industry
  • Multi-state human resources experience
  • Experience supporting recruiting coordination
