This role requires direct, hands-on experience with Clio Manage — specifically billing, invoicing, trust accounting, and timekeeping. If you have not used Clio Manage in a professional legal setting, this position will not be a fit.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to support a growing law firm (approx. 15 attorneys) with billing operations managed exclusively through Clio Manage. This is a remote, part-time W-2 position. You will be the primary point of contact for billing accuracy, invoice follow-up, and client communication related to financial matters.
Responsibilities:
Manage and process billing through Clio Manage — time entries, invoices, and payments
Track billable hours and ensure accuracy across multiple matters and attorneys
Coordinate billing updates with attorneys and communicate directly with clients
Follow up on overdue invoices and outstanding client payments
Maintain organized records of billing histories and client communications
Support administrative tasks including document management and scheduling
Communicate professionally via email, phone, and client portals
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Clio Manage (billing, timekeeping, trust accounting, and client management) — required, non-negotiable
Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment
Completed bachelor's degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Reliable, proactive, and professional work ethic
Stable internet connection and dedicated remote work setup
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting multiple attorneys or a high-volume law firm
Familiarity with legal billing terminology (billable hours, IOLTA/trust accounts, matter management)
Background in a client-facing or customer service role
