Job Posting: Contract Mental Health Clinician (1099) - Veteran Focus

Position:
Independent Contract Clinician (1099)
Specialties Required: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).

Veterans and Military Families
Service Model: Teletherapy

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and resilient mental health professionals to join our network as 1099 independent contractors. This role is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy to veterans and military service members. Our mission is to bridge the gap in specialized mental health care for those who have served.
We are looking for clinicians who are not only experienced but also deeply comfortable and competent in addressing the complex and urgent challenges often faced by this population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide weekly psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families.
  • Utilize evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, CPT, PE, ACT) appropriate for treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and military adjustment.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and stability in assessing and treating suicidality and self-harm ideation within a risk-management framework.
  • Maintain timely and confidential clinical documentation in our secure EHR system.
  • Collaborate with other care providers as needed (with client consent).

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, independent clinical license: LCSW, LCMHC, or MFT in your state of practice.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort treating veterans, active-duty service members, and/or their families.
  • Proven competency in suicide risk assessment, intervention, and safety planning.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and modalities relevant to PTSD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must carry professional liability insurance.
  • For teletherapy: Secure, HIPAA-compliant home office with reliable high-speed internet.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior military service or extensive experience working within VA/DoD systems.
  • Training/certification in CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), PE (Prolonged Exposure), or EMDR.
  • Experience with substance use co-morbidity.
