Description
LifeHealth, LLC, a federal government contractor, is seeking Dental Assistants/Sterilization Technicians to support Arizona Army National Guard State Surgeon Office and Medical Detachment.
SERVICES ARE NEEDED:
  • Part time, PRN, and On-Call
  • Friday-Sunday once per month (8 hours/day for a total of 24 hours)
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays twice per month (8 hours/day for a total of 32 hours)
  • Day and Weekend shifts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Responsible for tracking the dental status of all assigned treatment Soldiers.
  • Advise Soldiers on duty limitations associated with a dental issue.
  • Complete annual course on dentalcare.com: Clinical practice Guidelines for an Infection Control/exposure Control program in the Oral Healthcare Setting.
  • Complete annual course on dentalcare.com: Sterilization and Disinfection of Patient-care Items in Oral Healthcare Settings.
  • Performs Sterilization of dental equipment.
  • Performs Spore Testing weekly for sterilization equipment.
  • Set up and tear down procedure room for dental treatment with infection control measures.
  • Shocks water lines and prepares pro-cart for preparation of dental treatment.
  • Provides dental assisting services for dentist during dental treatment including suction, retraction, and passing instruments.
  • Assists in maintaining dental equipment to include storage, handling, and inventorying.
  • Must be available to work on scheduled weekday and weekend PHA/SRP dates.
  • Must be able to collect and track data and enter data into agency's electronic system.
  • Retrieve Soldier's records and escort Soldier to and from dental treatment area.
  • Takes radiographs of Soldiers using digital dental radiographic equipment to include panoramic radiographs.
  • Routinely tests equipment for functionality and coordinates minor repairs with Facility Manager.
  • Keeps State Dental Officer apprised of changes to or work needed with dental treatment area and equipment on a monthly or As Needed basis.
  • Maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) standards and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Dental Assistant Training from a licensed dentist and/or Certification from an accredited school.
  • Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician position may be filled by an individual with a dental assistant certification (Licensed to practice in Arizona) and 1 year experience in the discipline.
  • Training in radiology and radiology safety.
  • Previous work with military service members encouraged but not required.
  • CPR/BLS training IAW American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 government clearance.
