So, what will the Records Management Specialist at Terrestris do?

The Records Management Specialist organizes, maintains, and safeguards official agency records to ensure they are accurate, accessible, and compliant with federal records laws and policies. In support of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), this role helps manage digital and physical records related to cybersecurity, IT operations, and agency programs, ensuring proper retention, security, and retrieval of critical information. They also support audits, records disposition, and information governance to help the agency operate efficiently and securely.

What does a typical day look like for a Records Management Specialist?

You will:

  • Perform records management in compliance with federal privacy and legal requirements.
  • Support FOIA and Privacy Act analysis and reporting.
  • Manage FOIA/PA requests and ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain and support Salesforce CRM system.
  • Assist in developing information management policies and governance.
  • Manage SharePoint content and permissions.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts for reporting and records tasks.
  • Compile, transcribe, and index data for reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all work products.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • A Bachelor's degree and/or relevant certifications (CRM, CRA, CIPP, CGRP, FOIA Professional Certification, MS SharePoint Administrator, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of continuous experience in records management or information management.
  • Experience with federal records management, FOIA, and Privacy Act processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint content management.
  • Ability to manage FOIA/PA requests and correspondence workflows, develop reports, maintain records, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Experience creating PowerShell scripts for reporting and records tasks.
  • Familiarity with information governance policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control of work products.
  • Must meet Public Trust clearance and federal compliance requirements.
