Description
Saint Benedict Catholic School seeks a Part-Time Music Teacher to begin in the Fall of 2026. The Music Teacher will teach basic musicianship, including terms, theory, and reading, primarily through singing. Third graders also learn to play the recorder. The Music Teacher will teach all PK - 8 music classes and coordinate music for School Masses. The position is part-time exempt, approx. 24 hours per week.
Requirements
• Hold a bachelor's degree or better from an accredited college or university
• Be a Catholic in good standing with a passion and commitment to Catholic classical education
• Be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
• Be able to collaborate effectively
• Be able to manage a classroom and work effectively with students one-on-one and in small groups
• Prior to employment, be able to pass criminal background checks

• Have prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
• Hold a Virginia Teacher Certification or have the qualifications necessary to obtain one upon hire
