Position Summary
The Student Radio Program Director (PD) oversees all aspects of the radio station. The Student Radio Program Director enforces the KUIW music and station policies. The Student Radio Program Director works closely with Music Director (MD) to ensure that the KUIW webstream is successfully programmed and broadcasting at all times.
This is a student position open to currentUIWstudents who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment.
Essential Functions
The student Radio Program Director (PD)
  • instructs KUIW Officers and communicates the status and needs of station to KUIW Faculty Advisor.
  • trains other officers and hosts, and maintains the on-air schedule.
  • ensures that KUIW programming is being promoted online (web and social media) and out in the community.
  • is available to DJ on-campus events.

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Strong writing skills, ability to create graphics, manage website, and curate content.
  • Team player with a willingness to help and to mentor students.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
UIW Communication Arts student.
In some instances, priority may be given to work study eligible students.

Successful completion of COMM 3390 Radio Practicum
