Join a Mission-Driven MinistryChild Evangelism Fellowship of Virginia is seeking an experienced Controller to provide financial leadership, strengthen internal controls, and support the financial health of our statewide ministry and local chapters.
This newly established position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and providing strategic financial guidance in a nonprofit ministry environment.
What You'll DoAs Controller, you will:
- Â Lead financial oversight, reporting, and compliance activitiesÂ
- Â Strengthen internal controls and financial proceduresÂ
- Â Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, payroll, and cash managementÂ
- Â Prepare and present financial reports for leadership, Board, and Finance CommitteeÂ
- Â Support local chapter financial operations and treasurersÂ
- Â Coordinate Form 990 preparation and other regulatory filingsÂ
- Â Oversee QuickBooks administration and financial systemsÂ
- Â Assist with implementation and integration of donor management/CRM systemsÂ
- Â Supervise and support the Staff AccountantÂ
- Â Provide strategic financial recommendations that support ministry growth and sustainabilityÂ
QualificationsRequired
- Â Active involvement in a local churchÂ
- Â Agreement with the CEF Statement of Faith and Ministry Compliance AgreementÂ
- Â Commitment to the mission and values of Child Evangelism FellowshipÂ
- Â Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldÂ
- Â 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experienceÂ
- Â Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principlesÂ
- Â Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controlsÂ
- Â Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft ExcelÂ
- Â Ability to work independently and develop effective financial processesÂ
Preferred
- Â CPA or equivalent professional certificationÂ
- Â Experience with nonprofit or faith-based organizationsÂ
- Â Experience with donor management/CRM systemsÂ
- Â Knowledge of ADP or similar payroll platformsÂ
- Â Experience supporting multiple entities, locations, or chaptersÂ
