Eligibility Requirements
  1. Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
  2. Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
  3. Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester

The Office of Admissions, Operations and Systems is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Student Assistant to join our team. This position will provide valuable experience in customer service, and data entry. Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Assist prospective students with their CSUSB application and admissions inquiries via phone or in person.
- Schedule appointments for students to see Admissions Counselors.
- Take in and write receipts for student documents such as, transcripts, test scores, and residency information.
- Assist with all Admissions and Student Recruitment programs, events, and off campus visits.
- Conduct campus tours to individuals and groups
- Perform general office activities, such as typing, operating office machines, processing mail, or securing confidential materials.
- Attend college fairs, representing CSUSB for the recruitment of prospective students to the university
- Conduct admissions presentations to K-12 students wishing to learn more about higher education, requirements, etc.
- Participate in call campaigns
- Perform other duties as assigned by office manager(s) for the overall function of the office and/or institution of CSUSB.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

- Current CSUSB student in good academic standing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous customer service or public speaking experience is a plus!
- Provide excellent customer service through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Support admissions initiatives by participating in various events.
- Enter and update information and help maintain accurate records.
- Answer questions and provide insights into the student experience at CSUSB.
License / Certification:
- Driver's license
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm).
Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Conditions of Employment
Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check when required may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Driver's License Check
Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
