Job description

Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students across multiple school sites in the Baton Rouge area. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact from July 27, 2026, through May 24, 2027, working part-time (29 hours per week) with K-12 students. While on-site presence is required, there’s flexibility for a hybrid schedule to better support work-life balance.

As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you’ll conduct educational assessments, help identify student needs, and create actionable, timely reports. Your expertise will guide interventions and support plans, while collaboration with educators, families, and school leaders ensures every child receives personalized attention. Professional development opportunities begin with a couple of PD days starting July 27.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assist with eligibility assessments.
  • Communicate clearly with parents, teachers, administrators, and school teams regarding assessment outcomes and recommendations.
  • Maintain thorough records and uphold standards for IDEA compliance.
  • Participate in team meetings to design student-centered intervention strategies.
  • Provide community resource referrals and collaborate with other support professionals, including educational diagnosticians and speech-language pathologists.
  • Explain assessment processes to families and school staff in accessible, supportive ways.
  • Stay current with best practices and participate in in-service training.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana DOE certification in School Psychology (required).
  • Experience conducting and interpreting psychoeducational evaluations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet reporting timelines.
  • Knowledge of special education eligibility criteria and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Bilingual candidates are especially encouraged, though not required.
  • Completion of district credentialing, background check, and fingerprinting.
