Job description

Join Oakbrook Corporation as a Part-Time Property Caretaker at Wildberry Village, a 120-unit multi-family community in Rockford, IL. In this unique role, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents while serving as a visible and reliable presence on-site.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in their surroundings, and values consistency and independence in their day-to-day responsibilities.
This position offers onsite housing in exchange for 15 hours of work per week, with additional hours paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour.
What It's Like to Be a Property Caretaker
As a Property Caretaker, your day will focus on keeping the community looking its best-from maintaining common areas and grounds to assisting with light maintenance and safety checks. You'll work independently while playing an important role in supporting the overall resident experience. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly contribute to a positive and well-maintained community environment.
To succeed in this role, you are dependable, self-motivated, and take pride in maintaining a clean and attractive environment. You're comfortable working independently and handling a variety of physical tasks both indoors and outdoors.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning, janitorial, and light maintenance tasks in common areas and apartments
  • Maintain property grounds to ensure they are clean, orderly, and safe
  • Complete seasonal responsibilities, including:
    • Snow and ice removal
    • Lawn care and landscaping
    • Trash pickup and removal
  • Assist with upkeep of property features such as ponds, sidewalks, and exterior lighting
  • Support minor maintenance repairs as needed
  • Identify and report safety hazards or repair needs promptly
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain property appearance and safety standards
  • Comply with Fair Housing guidelines at all times
  • Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's core values
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, and working in varying weather conditions

Position Details
  • 15 hours per week required in exchange for onsite housing
