The opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a full-time Senior Accountant, Record to Report to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the accounting team with multiple initiatives, including general ledger close optimization and the streamlining of end-to-end accounting processes. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $76,800 - $96,700 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare standard journal entries for assigned units 
  • Develop and document accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls, and investigate variances and reporting discrepancies, communicating issues on time 
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, review contracts, and calculate associated rent and royalty payments 
  • Coordinate with and review work prepared by an overseas third-party provider, carry out complex financial analysis, research, and reporting, and prepare documentation for internal and external auditors 
  • Assist the accounting manager in preparing documents, reports, and presentations for company leaders 
More about you
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or finance  
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred; large multi-national company or hospitality industry experience a plus  
  • CPA is a plus, but not required  
  • Knowledge of GAAP and expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management   
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software, and experience with data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, or Power Automate
