Job description

The Route Support Specialist serves as the communications hub of our Route Department. A customer-facing Support Specialist who helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. This part-time role focuses on answering phones, addressing customer needs, documenting and escalating feedback, and coordinating with drivers, managers, and other team members. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who can think on their feet, help investigate issues such as missing or misdelivered items, and occasionally drive locally to retrieve or deliver orders when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers in the Route Department, ensuring clear communication and follow-through.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Take customer feedback, document it accurately, and escalate to the appropriate manager.
  • Investigate and help resolve operational problems, including missing items, misassembled orders, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Collaborate closely with drivers, managers, and team members to keep operations smooth and customers satisfied.
  • Occasionally drive locally to recover errant or misdelivered orders (not a regular delivery route).
  • Mark in dry cleaning items accurately and efficiently.
  • Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service.

Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-first approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

  • Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
