Schedule: Must have a flexibility to work Saturdays
Summary: The Associate is the welcoming face of El Camino de San Antonio, providing a warm, welcoming experience to all, along with exceptional customer service. The El Camino Associate also treats those they work with, as well as visitors, with honor, dignity, and respect. Responsibilities include but are not limited to working in the Café and Gift Shop areas of the Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center as a cashier, restocking product, and serving food to health department standards. Setup and breakdown of children's activities and events at the Pilgrimage Center may be required as well as set up and breakdown of events in the Pope Francis Center venue. Custodial duties may include trash pickup, cleaning restrooms and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Padre Madre Pilgrimage Center and the Pope Francis Center.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
  • Provides a warm and welcoming experience to guests
  • Responds to questions about the pilgrimage center, its programs, and activities
  • Responds accurately to basic questions about the Catholic Faith
  • Follows health department standards and serves Café food and drink products to patrons.
  • Conducts event preparation, setup and tear-down for various events and activities including those at the Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center and those at the Pope Francis Center
  • Performs custodial duties - emptying trash, cleaning, and restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facilities.
  • Operates the POS system and completes purchase transactions
  • Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and takes precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Protects the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and Faith and Morals Policy at all times.
  • Utilize a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:
  • Experience in food services and customer service preferred.
  • Experience in facility/restroom cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Experience with facility and equipment set up for various events

License and Credentials:
  • Reliable transportation
  • Food Handlers Certificate preferred

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of and the ability to count money and make accurate change
  • Ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system
  • Ability to serve food and drinks to Health Department Standards
  • Ability to clean and sanitize facilities and equipment to Health Department standards
  • Ability to operate restaurant equipment such as, but not limited to, cash register, coffee and drink dispensers and other related equipment or appliances.
  • Ability to setup children's activities, receptions, dinners, business event
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public
  • Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Must have good written and verbal skills;
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • An Ability to respond to basic questions about the Catholic faith
