About UsPark Ridge Pharmacy is an independent, family-owned pharmacy that has served the Park Ridge community for years. We know our patients by name, not by prescription number, and we’re looking for someone who wants that same kind of hands-on, neighborly pharmacy experience — not a big-box counter job.
Benefits/Perks- Competitive Compensation
- Great Work Environment
- Career Advancement Opportunities
Job SummaryWe’re looking for a part-time Pharmacy Technician who takes pride in getting the details right and treats every customer like a neighbor, because they usually are one. You’ll be the person patients see most: receiving and checking prescriptions, running insurance eligibility and billing, filling and labeling under the pharmacist’s supervision, managing inventory, and helping out anywhere the store needs a hand that day. We’re a small, tight-knit team, so this isn’t a role where you disappear into one task — you’ll wear a few hats and get to know the regulars. The schedule is flexible and varies week to week, so we need someone whose availability can flex with us.
Responsibilities- Receive electronic, written, and faxed prescriptions from patients and doctor’s offices, verify the information is accurate, and input it into our pharmacy management system (Prime Rx / PioneerRx) as needed
- Run eligibility checks for insurance
- Bill insurance and handle insurance rejections
- Pull, count, fill, label, and prepare prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Maintain proper storage and inventory of all medications in the pharmacy
- Receive incoming inventory, verify accuracy, log it within the system, and put it away as needed
- Maintain proper pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventory logs, and more
- Accept payment for prescriptions and small transactions
- Answer phones and handle customer inquiries, referring to the pharmacist as needed
- Pitch in on general store activity as needed, including front-end customer service and light stocking/merchandising
Qualifications- Active pharmacy technician registration/license in New Jersey
- National certification Ex. PTCB is a plus
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy setting
- Experience with Prime Rx and/or PioneerRx pharmacy management software preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a genuine interest in building relationships with regular patients
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
- The ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed in a small, fast-moving team
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may vary week to week
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (inventory totes/boxes)
- Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology desired
