Job Summary
Ashland Community & Technical College - Workforce Solutions provides quality healthcare training to prepare students for rewarding careers. We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist or a Certified Pharmacy Technician with at least 3 years of experience to serve as an adjunct instructor for our 12-week Pharmacy Technician Prep Course, designed to prepare students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam.
Position Overview:
This adjunct instructor role is ideal for licensed pharmacists or experienced certified pharmacy technicians looking to teach and mentor future pharmacy professionals. You will deliver a comprehensive course aligned with the NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician Study Guide, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to pass the certification exam and succeed in pharmacy technician roles.
Job Duties:
• Teach all NHA exam domains: pharmacology, pharmacy law, medication safety, inventory management, pharmacy operations, dosage calculations, and patient communication.
• Prepare and update course materials in line with NHA certification requirements.
• Assess student progress through quizzes, practical exercises, and mock exams.
• Provide individualized feedback and support to enhance student learning.
• Stay current with pharmacy technician regulations and best practices.
• Create an engaging, positive, and interactive learning environment.
Course Details:
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Schedule: Flexible to accommodate instructor availability
• Current class time: Tuesdays, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (subject to instructor scheduling)
• Focus: Preparing students thoroughly for the NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam
Minimum Qualifications:
• Licensed Pharmacist strongly preferred OR
• Certified Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience considered
• Teaching or training experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and passion for mentoring students
• Comfortable teaching in-person and/or online
