TPC Sugarloaf is a premier private club located within the gated community of Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. As part of the prestigious TPC Network, the Club offers an exceptional country club experience that goes well beyond the golf course. The Golf Instructor is primarily responsible for teaching and organizing golf instruction programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and professional golf operations practices and procedures as would be acquired through one to two years of similar professional golf experience
  • Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary. Previous teaching golf experience required
  • Registered PGA apprentice or current PGA member in good standing

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist with the planning, promotion and execution of golf instructional programs for the members for social, competitive and development for all ages, gender and skill
  • Maintain accurate and updated profiles of all members; assist with contacting all new members to involve them within the first 30 days of membership. Solicit appropriate member feedback about programs, the club and staff for member retention, program and staff evaluation as needed
  • Teach lessons and clinics as needed or communicated by the Director of Instruction
  • Assists with maintaining efficient accounting procedure using generally accepted accounting procedures and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc., policies and procedures
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports that itemize all instruction provided and proper accountability for fees collected
  • Maintain a high profile with membership and guests. Positively promote the service philosophy of the club and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
  • Organize and coordinate outside services and traffic flow for clinics and lessons. Ensure that daily standards and desired presentations for clinics and lessons are consistently performed
  • Assist with implementing an effective maintenance operations plan for the practice area, coordinating the needs and desires of the maintenance crew to ensure the finest daily turf presentations
  • Assist with golf operations as directed by the Head Golf Professional
  • Answer telephone, schedule future instructional times, and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
