Job description

United Health Services is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a job in Norwich, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Shift: 8 hours, nights
  • Employment Type: Staff

In the Laboratory, under limited supervision, performs routine and specialized tests in assigned laboratory sections in a timely manner, monitors lab processes, and verifies results. With six (6) years’ experience, may in the absence of the supervisor, direct daily activities of his/her section according to UHS Hospitals’, Laboratory and Departmental Policies and Procedures, NYSDOH, CDC, and UHSH Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

Sign-on Incentive:

Candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory technology or equivalent. (Grandfathered NYS Licensed CLT).

Preferred:

  • One (1) year experience working in a clinical laboratory.


License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

Preferred:

  • ASCP Specialty Certification.

Work Environment

  • Most work is performed in heated and air conditioned surroundings. Will use eyewear, gloves, masks/face shields, must be worn according to UHSH Infection Control and CDC Blood and Body Fluids Policies and Procedures. Standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds.
